If it is your turn to be the camp cook and you don't want to spend all your time cooking complicated campfire recipes, using a lot of heavy cooking equipment and cookware, and spending hours cleaning-up, this super-easy weekend camping menu might be the answer you are looking for.

This complete menu package includes everything you need for a typical Friday - Sunday weekend camping trip.

  • Camp meal selections
  • Camping cookware and equipment checklist
  • Chuck box supplies checklist
  • Groceries list for 1 to 6 campers
  • Complete campfire recipes and prep instructions

Note: All the cooking is done with the campfire - no camp stove needed.

The Camp Meals Menu

The first meal for most weekend camping trips is Friday's Dinner, that's where this menu plan starts. If your trip needs to include Friday lunch, just add some pre-packed cold-cut sandwiches, the groceries list includes enough snacks and sides to go with them.

Friday dinner:

  • Hobo Hamburger and Veggies tin-foil meal, warmed cinnamon apple slices, warmed bread w/butter, beverage and coffee

Friday evening campfire treat:

  • Chocolate/marshmallow Banana Boat

Saturday breakfast:

  • Instant flavored oatmeal and toasted bagel with spread, fruit, juice and coffee

Saturday lunch:

  • Toasted subs, fruit, chips, beverage and coffee

Saturday afternoon snacks:

  • Trail mix, granola bars, chips, fruit

Saturday dinner:

  • BBQ boneless chicken breast, baked potatoes, veggie, warmed bread w/butter, beverage and coffee

Saturday evening campfire treat:

  • Hobo pastry on a stick (with cinnamon and sugar coating)

Sunday breakfast:

  • Baggie omelets, fried hash browns, fruit, juice and coffee

Sunday lunch:

  • Ramon Cup-o-Noodles, chips, beverage and coffee

Note: This is the super-easy version for your camping trip. The only cookware you need is a coffee pot or tea kettle to heat water, a cast iron frying pan, and a 2-qt or larger pot or pan. The groceries list is complete but still allows you to make any changes you want to the menu items and still have all you need for the weekend.
